The Samoyed and Ugric People
This map shows the migration of the Samoyed people into Siberia beginning 5-400 B.C. and the Ugric contacts with the Southeast. Finno-Ugric people and Samoyeds, best known for their white dogs, were neighbours for a long time before encroachment from the south forced the Samoyeds to leave. Most Samoyed people became scattered into the wilderness of Siberia.
Translation from Finnish: Samojeedeja = Samoyeds, Turkkilaisia = Turkish tribes, Permiläisiä = Finno-Permic people.
