Sooke is located on the Southwest Coast of Vancouver Island 50 Km from Victoria. This is where the family spent Christmas 1998. The Olympic Mountains, across the Straight of Juan de Fuca, are in the United States, and can be seen in the distance. You can take a ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles USA, which is across the Straight, or to Seattle. A ferry goes from Swartz Bay, near Victoria, to Vancouver (45 minutes) and costs 62 Dollars Canadian, one way with a car and four passengers. View is south.
